In 1982, while working at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital, I accepted the position of Animal Control Officer for the villages. This was a part time position under the direct supervision of Sauk Prairie Police Department. I continued in that role until there came a full time opening as a police officer. In 1983 I was hired as a full time officer for the Sauk Prairie Police Department.
At that time there were eight full time officers and a Police Chief. I have held many different positions in the department throughout the years, and I have seen the department grow from those nine to the thirteen full time officer that we now have.
For several years I was a range officer for the Sauk County Officers Range, a combined range program for many departments located in Sauk County. I also help with the firearms training within our department.
For a short time I worked as a Deputy Sheriff for the Sauk County Sheriff's Department, working in the jail.
I have now completed over 20 years of service with the Sauk Prairie Police Department.
