Sauk Prairie Police Dept
The Sauk Prairie Police Department serves the Villages of Sauk City and Prairie Du Sac. We are located in a beautiful area along the Wisconsin River between Madison and Wisconsin Dells. We moved into our new Police Station facility in June of 2022. Applicants must submit both an DJ-LE-330 Application and Resume. Preventive and directed patrol; Enforcement of federal, state and city laws; Obtain, verify & report information which provides the basis for making arrests; Enforcement of traffic laws & investigation of traffic accidents; Perform the physical functions of police officer. Minimum and Maximum pay rate shown are for year 2025. Applicants hired in this process would start in 2025. There are step increases in between the minimum and maximum as spelled out by the union contract over an 18 month probationary period.

- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen
- Vision correctable to 20/20
